Lakeway healthcare workers disciplined | Health

Three Lakeway Area nurses were disciplined by the Tennessee Board of Nursing.

Tonya H. Ailor, a nurse from Newport, was found guilty of unprofessional conduct. Ailor refused to submit to a drug test. Ailor voluntarily surrendered her license.

Jana L. Anglin, RN, of Morristown, was found unfit or incompetent by reason of negligence, habits or other cause.

She was addicted to alcohol or drugs to the degree of interfering than nursing duties and was guilty of unprofessional conduct.

Anglin also failed to maintain records for each patient which accurately reflects nursing problems and interventions for the patient, making false or incorrect, inconsistent or unintelligible entries in any patent records or the records of any healthcare facility pertaining to obtaining, possessing or administration of any controlled substance as defined in the Federal Controlled Substances Act; unauthorized removal or use of narcotics, drugs, supplies or equipment from any health care facility; use of any intoxicating beverage or illegal use of any narcotic or dangerous drug while on duty; practicing professional nursing in a manner inconsistent with T.C.A. § 63 – 7-103; and engaging in acts of dishonesty which relate to the practice of nursing.

Anglin, whose license was suspended with terms, was fined $11,000 and assessed $5,000 in costs.

Jessica V.M. Eldridge, LPN, of Tazewell, was found guilty of unprofessional conduct, refused to submit to a drug test or testing positive on any drug on any government or private sector pre-employment, employer-ordered or confirmed drug test.

Eldridge’s license was suspended with terms.

A Dandridge physician was disciplined recently by the Tennessee Board of Medical Examiners.

Dr. Bill H. Harris, M.D., was cited for disciplinary action in another state for unethical and unprofessional conduct. Harris’ license was reprimanded, he was assessed a $1,000 penalty, plus costs in prosecuting the case.
