VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Tasha Turnbull of T2 Fitness says she’s partnering with the Virginia Beach Department of Health to host a COVID-19 vaccination clinic to save lives in the Black community.

“I saw a lot of people in our community, not just becoming ill, but severely ill, to the point that they had to be hospitalized,” said Turnbull about the toll COVID-19 is taking on the Black community. “I’m not talking about elderly people. I’m talking about people in their 50s. I’m talking about people in their 40s. I’m talking about people in our 30s. [COVID-19] is affecting a

TORONTO, April 8, 2021 /CNW/ – The Registered Nurses’ Association of Ontario (RNAO) says the government’s new public health measures announced yesterday will help stop the spread of the virus’s variants. The announcement came on a day when officials reported another 3,215 cases of COVID-19 and more than 500 patients in hospital intensive care unit (ICU) beds.

The government’s province-wide emergency stay-at-home order is in effect for four weeks. Big box stores are restricted to selling groceries and pharmaceutical items only. While non-essential retail stores can remain open, they will be limited to curbside pick-up.

Not a single vaccinated doctor who contracted COVID-19 was hospitalized or died.

Infections among health care workers who are fully vaccinated for COVID-19 are extremely rare, according to a new study.

Researchers examined data from employee health records of more than 36,600 health care workers in California and found that less than 1% tested positive for COVID-19 after being fully vaccinated — meaning both doses plus two weeks for the immunity to build — with the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines.

To the Editor:

Data from phase 3 clinical trials of messenger RNA (mRNA) vaccines through November 2020 showed 94.1% efficacy for the prevention of symptomatic severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection at 14 days after the second dose of the mRNA-1273 vaccine (Moderna)1 and 95% efficacy at 7 days after the second dose of the BNT162b2 vaccine (Pfizer).2 Since the results of these trials were published, a nationwide surge in coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) has been noted, SARS-CoV-2 variants with increased infectivity have

Special occasions are few and far between these days. A few months ago, I got dressed up to go to the dentist. But for those who qualify to receive a vaccine, getting an appointment is truly a momentous occasion, and people are getting all dolled up for their “vaxxies,” or vaccine selfies.

On Tuesday, for example, Marc Jacobs shared a photo from his second-shot appointment. It sets the bar high: His hair was slicked to the side (deal with it, Gen Z!), and he wore a leopard-print Celine trench coat, a pink Balenciaga button-up shirt, and matching
